What If Exercise Was Considered A Snack Food

What if exercise was viewed by the public at large as a snack? This is sort of an absurd question don’t you think? If that were the case would more people exercise? You have to wonder. After all Americans pastime might be snacking. We snack in front of the television. Kids it seems snack all day long. We snack when we are bored. And supermarkets entice us with huge aisles of nothing more than a variety of snack foods for all tastes. Read the rest of this entry »

A Magnetic Name Tag has Advantages

Name tags, magnetic or not? Well, for the longest time I resisted trying out the magnet versions. I thought they sounded like something you’d put on the refrigerator. I own several veterinary clinics, so whatever my techs and assistants (as well as myself) wear name badges, they have to hold up to struggling dogs and panicky cats. But I finally took the plunge. The Magic Zoo often exhibits their jewelry at our Vet Meetings, so I thought I’d give their work a try. Yes! These have been the best employee badges ever! You know my favorite part? My employees actually wear them. When you go to this site, you’ll understand why. They are absolutely beautiful works of art. Read the rest of this entry »

Valentine Gift Basket – Just FORE Him

I just finished ordering a Valentine gift for my husband. He doesn’t expect one, so I think when he receives the delivery he will be very surprised. Did you ever think about how anticipating the surprise of someone else is fun for the giver? It has been for me. Usually he gets me something because most of us think it’s more of a woman’s holiday, but he deserves something too. It’s not about the money, but about showing thoughtfulness to someone you love. Once I decided to get him a gift, I just had to narrow the field. I started with the usual ideas like clothes, new wallet, an engraved key chain and so on. Then I decided who doesn’t like to get a delivery, so I ordered him a Valentine Gift Basket.

I stumbled upon HomeCookingConnection.com where it was easy to order, there were so many from which to choose that I found one to easily suit his interests. Overall I think I came up with a good plan. All by myself I might add. I chose the Just FORE You gift basket …it’s a play on words for my golf fanatic. It includes; a golf accessory gift pack, golf mug, gourmet foods like cookies, cheese spread, Italian bread sticks, pepper-poppy crackers, beef sausage, par 3 snack mix, white cheddar popcorn and pesto & Parmesan cheese wafers. It’s really package well, and the basket could be reused for something else. I think he love it, and love me for sending it.

Simple to Elaborate Post Caps

Now that the holidays are over, it is time to think about what is happening outside on your fence and deck posts. As rain, ice and snow fall and freezing temperatures cause the wood to expand letting moisture seep deeper into the grain it is time to make sure you protect your fence posts with post caps. The good news is it doesn’t have to be expensive with the Capp 55 wooden post cap. This is a very simple cap that works to protect your posts from any unwanted intruders yet is a good looking cap. This Ficus Microcarpa is a Larger Bonsai

If you’re looking for an easy indoor bonsai tree that’s almost two foot tall, then the Ficus Microcarpa, or the Tiger Bark Fig, is the bonsai you need. This large bonsai will stand above many of your other bonsai, but that only helps to vary your collection and brings great visual appeal. The Ficus Microcarpa is incredibly hardy—it can live in conditions where few other fig bonsai trees can. You can actually put the Tiger Bark Fig outside during the warm months if you like, but don’t keep it out there too long—it doesn’t like temperatures under 50 degrees. It doesn’t need a huge amount of light, but it does need to be watered when it gets dry. The Ficus Microcarpa features unique flecks of color on its bark and has bright green, glossy leaves that remain on the tree year round. Read the rest of this entry »

Water Filtration For The 21th Century Homeowner

Water Filtration for the 21th century homeowner is getting easier and easier in spite of the amount of contaminants that are being placed  in our water supply.  Day after day we keep reading about how bad our water supply is becoming even though we consider ourselves living in a “safe” society. So, either we choose to ignore the warnings or take matters in our own hands. Fortunately it’s very easy to “fix” the problem with home water filtration devices. In fact the water filtration industry has very high standards. Both NSF and Underwriter Laboratories offer certification and testing. Read the rest of this entry »

The best distributors of sunglasses

There are many good distributors of sunglasses. These are normally the top notch companies. Some of these companies are Maui Jim, Chanel, Silhouette, and Oakley. These companies sell in their own stores or sell directly to retail sunglass stores. My preferred pair of the four is Oakleys. Oakleys are made for both men and women and are a sporty line. They still are fairly expensive, not as much as some of the brands listed above, but they provide high quality frames as well as top notch lenses. Read the rest of this entry »

These Black Poodle Earrings Have Personality

To me, these black poodle earrings really capture the beauty of the poodle. My favorite thing is that the poodle has a “puppy cut,” which is the best kind, as far as I’m concerned. And the detail is next to perfection! I have always loved this breed, and always appreciate it when someone creates artwork depicting the poodle in a proud way, instead of all pink with bows. Lighted Post Caps

Two years ago my husband and I went to one a Parade of Homes that so many communities have these days to showcase new and wonderful ideas. This one was to showcase some of the more expensive homes in our area and one of the things I took away from the homes were the wonderful lighted post caps they had on the decks of a couple of the houses. Though we were in the houses during the day they had pictures of the deck at night and they were beautiful! I just couldn’t get them out of my mind and had to buy some for our deck. Rolling Home Together – Modern Tapestry Wall Decor

If you love paintings and are a big fan of Stacy dun then you would surely love this Rolling Home Together Tapestry. The painting is vibrant with a very nice color scheme and an attractive texture. The appearance of this tapestry is more earthy yet modern. Rolling Home Together Modern Tapestry is a colorful tapestry and would go best with single colored walls in the background. For those who like experimenting can hang this tapestry on textured walls. Textured walls would definitely go well with this tapestry however, the appearance and the look of the wall would be heavy rather then soft and subtle. So if your overall home décor is following a heavy look then your textured walls have a great enhancing tapestry which is “Rolling Home Together”. Read the rest of this entry »

USA Made-Custom 52″ Kestell Pedestal Base Poker Table

The 52″ Kestell Pedestal Base Poker Table is basically one of the most functional furniture that a person can own. When we initially finished an area in our basement, we were using an old kitchen table but, purchasing the Kestell table has added versatility and convenience to our “game playing”. The table is very spacious and can accommodate up to eight players. Because the finish comes in a variety of colors, we were able to match is to the cabinetry which had been installed. The felt on the top and the vinyl in the chairs come in a myriad of colors so we were able to color coordinate everything to match the décor in our game room. Read the rest of this entry »

The Dead Weight Ball Is An Alternative To Medicine Balls

Now here is a piece of fitness equipment that actually feels like the medicine balls you may have used long ago back in school. The Dead Weight Ball is soft, squeezable, sand filled and color-coded. Call it the modern day medicine ball. A Dead Weight Ball is ideal for exercises where rebounding or bouncing is not desired. It’s easy to catch and throw and if you have space in your home use it along with a medicine ball rebounder. This way you do not need a workout partner. The rebounder helps you workout alone. Bring Your Indoor Bonsai Tree Outdoors

In spite of the simple fact the tropical trees are grown indoors in cooler climates because they can’t survive the winters, there is no reason to deny them the summer too. While we have done an admirable job growing many tropical plants as wonderful indoor trees, that just isn’t where they were meant to grow and every plant can benefit from spending some time outdoors. Far from an exception, I think that indoor bonsai enjoy their summers outside more than any other plant I have. Some of my Ficus Bonsai are outside now and they’ve done very well.
