When we get lucky and the snow starts to melt, it’s easy to pretend that spring is around the corner and with it, all things that will soon be summer-like. I’ve never been what you can call a shopaholic, but rooting around online for great garden ideas is my idea of fun. (And I hope you’ll forgive the bad pun!) I’ve already started looking out for new ideas that will make my summer nights even brighter and one idea I found is the Dragonfly Candle Lantern I saw at Zen Garden Bonsai.

When you check out all the wonderful innovations that have come about recently in patio lights, one of the best has to be the growing popularity of candle lanterns. They come in so many different shapes and sizes that I’ve given up trying to choose just one and this summer I’ll have a whole selection of them to mix and match and change depending on what I’m doing or who I’m entertaining. I really love this Dragonfly lantern though for the way it brings together the current popularity of outdoor lights and the traditional iron and glass construction with an Oriental influence.

Even though this dish has been around a long time, I’ll never get tired of it. Now that I have a Crock Pot Chicken Ala King recipe that is every bit as good as my old skillet recipe, we’ll be enjoying it more often. We did a lot of entertaining at our home over the holidays. We had some family visiting from out of town that stayed for two weeks, so there were a few more mouths to feed than usual. Giraffe Earrings I Fell in Love With

I shouldnâ€™t have been surprised; The Magic Zoo has already come up with so many unusual earrings that I adore. But when I found this pair of whimsical sterling silver giraffe earrings that seem to be looking right at me, I nearly fell off my chair! What a creative way to make them- itâ€™s an angle I never expected to see in a pair of giraffe earrings. I love to cook chicken in the crockpot. Even tougher cuts of meat like legs and thighs turn out yummy and tender. Take this crockpot chicken fricassee recipe for example. Itâ€™s a family favorite that I have to cook at least every other week (especially during the cooler months). I donâ€™t mind since it is a pretty frugal meal and cooking it in the slow cooker means I donâ€™t have to do much. Canâ€™t beat that.
