Two years ago my husband and I went to one a Parade of Homes that so many communities have these days to showcase new and wonderful ideas. This one was to showcase some of the more expensive homes in our area and one of the things I took away from the homes were the wonderful lighted post caps they had on the decks of a couple of the houses. Though we were in the houses during the day they had pictures of the deck at night and they were beautiful! I just couldn’t get them out of my mind and had to buy some for our deck.

So I have bought and installed the low voltage type of post caps on my deck along with a ball finial on top of each one of the caps and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I actually installed them myself and found it easy and fun. I love the low voltage lights because you don’t need to install any wires or electrical sources to get the lights to work. They simply work off of batteries!
