Water Filtration for the 21th century homeowner is getting easier and easier in spite of the amount of contaminants that are being placed  in our water supply.  Day after day we keep reading about how bad our water supply is becoming even though we consider ourselves living in a “safe” society. So, either we choose to ignore the warnings or take matters in our own hands. Fortunately it’s very easy to “fix” the problem with home water filtration devices. In fact the water filtration industry has very high standards. Both NSF and Underwriter Laboratories offer certification and testing.

We ended up getting a whole house filter. The brand we choose was the Aquasana EQ-300. We saw this filter while watching Dr. Oz  speaking on the importance of water filtration.  After some research we decided that this model was both cost efficient( under $800 dollars) and didn’t need replacing but once every three years.  It also eliminated the need to have separate shower filters in the bathrooms. As a bonus our laundry is now supplied with chlorine free water. It will make our dark color clothes last longer!
